Seems like this could almost be a scam (I’m sure it wasn’t but…) where they advertise a $1,000,000 pay out to get more people to play, but when it finnaly hits, they say it was a malfunction. I’d say, either pay the lady off, or shut the casino down; take your pick.

don’t mean to get in the middle of this, but in-house progressives can reach a million plus it just takes a very long time. as for this case, as stated malfunctions void all pays and plays, but on a side note, its against casino regulations to take pictures on a gaming floor, if the casino wanted they could not give her anything and also issue bans on her and her husband for the pics. They will most likley give her the actual amount of the jackpot, as well as alot of comps.

YMBriggs. I know, it’s different when you work in the casino business. She’s gonna sue and probably settle for something other than the million. I’d be pissed of too if I were her, but she has to ‘understand’ that what she was playing IS NOT a progressive machine [Star Wars, WOF, John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Monopoly, etc.] and there’s no way it’s ever going to pay that much.

I guess there’s a lot to be said for the machine saying she won a million dollars. That must have some bearing on this. I know you can’t win a million on a penny video poker machine even if it is a hundred hands or whatever it was. But the casino isn’t getting a free pass on this.

actually, she didn’t even play a dollar… she played a penny. however, i still think she should at least be awarded the maximum prize amount for hitting the royal. i can’t remember what it was worth, but i know it was like 35 000, not the 835 of the progressive jackpot.
