How To Play Texas Holdem Poker
Poker is not all that hard a game once you’ve been shown how to play it a couple of times. In this article, I’ll give you some of the basics and tell you how to get more information.
I’m glad that you’re here and wondering how to play poker. You see, a lot of people stick to games like blackjack because from the outside it looks like an easier game and poker looks difficult. I’ll show you that it is really easy to get the basics of poker in just a few minutes. But the beauty of poker is that, out of all card games, it is the one where your skill can make the most difference.
In poker, the winner is the player with the best hand at the end of the game. There are various hands that you may have heard of such as “two pairs” or “full house”. Don’t worry too much about these as I’ll show you where to get a full list of poker hands later.
At the beginning of the game, everyone gets two cards that only they can see. Then the dealer will put five cards in the centre of the table called “community cards”. Everyone can use their own two cards plus these five to make a total of seven from which they can make a hand.
Now here comes the beauty of poker – instead of revealing all seven cards to you at once, there are instead many rounds of poker where players will bet against each other.
No one really knows what cards everyone else has – they guess by looking at their opponents’ behaviours and try to work it out. That’s why everyone says that poker is such a classic game of “bluffing”.
